Farewells..

NOTE: If you are not interested in my personal life and hates pictures, pls ignore this post as this is gonna be a super long post filled with boring-to-you but really cherish-ta-ble pics and awesome moments days before I leave Malaysia for good..

Last week was just jam-packed for me as Wednesday was my last day of work in Boustead and I have to finish my work before I finally say goodbye to my desk. However, thursday and friday nights were just awesome and I attended 2 so called 'farewell' dinners which really make me tired for the whole weekend.. I guess age is just catching up.. haha..

Thursday night was a karaok night and it was organized by my friends who I got to know through my sales job. They are just a bunch of crazy people but down-to-earth and really nice awesome people.. We cracked our voices in the newly-opened Neway Karaok which was located in Centro Klang and I tell you.. The food (Buffet Dinner) was much more better than some of the buffets you can find in KL city..

As I have warned you earlier, you may skip reading this post if you are not the picture type of people and just dont bother to know who i knew in this earth.. Do not complain that this post is too long and boring..

Here Goes:

We booked a room which can accomodate more than 10 people and the songs are projected to the screen which really wow-ed me.. I've never been to a projected karaok room.. the best was just a flat-screen TV which have WOW-ed me already.. However, the selections of songs in English still need alot of improvement..
Me and Kenny were the first to arrive and he was my driver of the night.. We happen to stay at the same street.. So, not nice to drive in 2 cars and waste the energy of the world right?
Black sofa.. cool and elegant..
The buffet.. They basically change the style of cooking almost every half-an hour... I've tried like 4 types of fish in different styles in just one night! First was normal sweet-n-sour fish which I am almost guilty of finishing the whole dish.. Its just too nice.. can u blame me for being selfish? Blame the cook for making it so nice! Then, they served Grilled Salmon.. which makes me drool too.. Then they have chinese-style-steamed fish.. oh perfect!! And after that, they serve some black sauce fish which I was too full to even try a piece.. hahaha..
The desert and appetizer counter located at the center of the small buffet hall.. They even have 'hundred year old egg', hams, salad..From the east to the west.. How thoughtful are these cooks..
The sushi counter which Jessica will kill to have it.. But too bad she wasn't invited.. Basically you can choose anytype of 'dressing' you want for your sushi-s and you can only have 3 sushis at one time..
The couple.. Gary and his boo.. Sorry but I really can't remember her name.. It was my first time meeting her k..
Apologize for my bad photograpy skills..
Eric trying to attract the attention of everyone..
Darry and his cousin.. the cousin who doesn't sing at all throughout the whole session.. how odd..
Cherlyn.. Someone that I can count on in times of troubles.. She's like our 'tai kah che' for the group..
This picture was taken when Shin Wae and me were singing our hearts out.. Thats why my mouth is widely opened..
The controls were pretty confusing.. As you can see.. Ivy is having a tough time trying to get the songs she wants..
Kenny.. Singing almost every songs we chose...
Eric, who has a soar throat even before we start..
My lovely now-ex-colleague Ryan the Teddy bear who was so nice to drop by..
Cherlyn who was really tired after few songs and pls note that all of them came after work..
Shin Wae.. The Pretty one..
Ivy, the pretty one.. thanks for coming dear.. and thanks for the surprise!!
Me and Eric.. The nagging one..
That sums up my thursday 26-06-2008 night and I really miss the food (also the fellowship!!).. I miss all the fishes and all the dessert!! I live to eat k!!! And it was really nice of them to take their time out after work just to make this a memorable one for me.. Thanks guys!! And unfortunately, I didn't managed to take pictures with everyone in the room.. *Sob Sob*
Anyway, on friday night, the YAF (young adults fellowship) organized a farewell dinner for Cheryl, Joy and me who are leaving to Singapore, Australia and Singapore. Cheryl who got a really good offer left Malaysia for Singapore on Sunday and really thank God that at least I have someone I know in singapore that I can count on for my spiritual walk.. However, things are even nicer for Joy who will be leaving to Australia to get married with her honey and live happily ever after.. As for me.. You know the story..
The farewell dinner was held in a buffet restaurant called 'Halia' located in Sime Darby convention Centre near Hartamas and their concept is pretty interesting.. They only have soup, bread, appetiser and dessert on the buffet table..As for the main dish wise, the waiters will come to your table holding 2 sticks of grilled chicken, lamb, beef or any other kind of edible meat and seafood at one time.. If you want the grilled chicken that one waiter is holding, you tell him, and he will leave you wit 2 pieces of meat on your plate without you walking and going through the hassle of grill-ing your own food..
The setting of the tables.. Simple and nice..
The sauces they provide to go with the meat..
The desserts.. Oh.. the chocolate cake.. I miss you..
My 'Bra-thers'.. Wei Loong the cheeky one and Brian the blur one..

The whole group of us together with Pastor John and wife... All young and vibrant!!!
Me with Sheila.. She's so cute and adorable..
Cheryl, Me, Sheila and Grace.. We were trying to pose like Models and obviously we failed..
The tall skinny man is Eugene who was jealous that nobody wants to take picture with him.. And Anna smiling beautifully like a girl in a potrait.. David.. trying to steal the limelight at the back!
Theres baiscally nothing much to do after we filled our hungry stomachs.. so we cam-whored and posing at almost every corner of the restaurant!!
Me with Ms Stylo.. Wuan Chin.. my partner in Crime NUMBER 1!!!
TJ the joker and always the cheerful one!! Remember our agreement!!!
My Tai Koh/Uncle- Jeffrey.. Never fails to help me whenever I need it..
The Cheeky and unpredictable Wei Loong..
Partner in Crime NUMBER2/ Wilder Beast.. The bubbly Grace..
Hermann the man!! I'm so gonna miss you when I leave..
Cheryl and I.. One last pic before we both go to singapore for different purpose.. We both agreed to meet in singapore after this.. 'See ya in singapore!'
The Criminals.. Wuan Chin, Stephanie, Grace and duh!
Miss Malaysia posing style.. we have no professional training k!
Mr and Mrs David Ng... So sad for them that they have to be seperated for 2 months before David joins Cheryl in Singapore..
Brian whom I sayang the most..
TJ with the ladies..

Hermann with the criminals..
Mr and Mrs Lee Hwai Tah.. Sherrene looking forever gorgeous in any pictures..

The ladies.. and some who were in the restroom..
The soon-to-be part-time-Singaporeans with the macho men..

Stephanie trying to immitate 'Forest Gump's poster but it turned out to be pretty spooky..

All in all, I really enjoyed both the events and it was really sweet of my friends to organize this and take their precious time out just to be a part of this.. All these will be sweet memories that I can only remember in my heart and also written down in my blog.. It makes it even harder for me to leave but I know God has better plans for me in Singapore.. Thank you guys that are featured above for this awesome time and pls do keep in touch k!
p/s: It is 1st of July now.. I have 9 more days to go.. time really flies man..

2 weeks and counting down..

Right now, I'm working in a position where many will be jealous of.. My job is to be at home, do some housework (ordered by my dearest mum), go online, eat, sleep, read and do whatever I want.. The position is called 'Sampah Masyarakat'.. Basically I'm suppose to work but I'm no longer working because I have resigned from my company and now I'm enjoying my holidays.. So to speak.. Many of you might think that this is really fun but in exactly 2 weeks time, I will be leaving this very comfort zone and start my life anew. I'm still trying my very best to minimise my list of things to bring to Singapore but it doesn't seem to work!!! I gave up and now blogging..
/
Loads of meet ups with most of my friends lately until my mum complained that I rarely at home and really appreciate all of you (and them) that are willing to make up some time to be with me before I leave Malaysia to torture myself. While many said that it is a good opportunity (which I can clearly see myself), I take this as a challenge for myself. I've told many of my friends that I'm a pampered spoilt brad that loves to be at home whenever possible.. and going there all by myself, taking care of my own meals, washings and stuff will really really kill me.. haha.. PLUS, many experienced cabin crews warned me that the training period is gonna be like hell for all of us because they will really break and crush you. Thats why, before I leave to Singapore, I have to sign my life away in a contract with SIA as they know that many will give up but can't because if anyone does, one must compensate alot alot alot of money to SIA.. in SIN DOLLAR somemore..Its gonna be crazy.. but I'm sure with the love and support from my family and friends and not forgeting the ever faithful God, I can go through the 4 freaking training months. After that, PAMELA can proudly says that she's officially a cabin crew for SIA!! Yeepee!! I can fly..
/
Yesterday was my last day at work but my boss decided to have a simple farewell lunch for me on last thurs as he has to attend a conference in Barcelona this whole week.. I'm not talking about the BAR-celona at Sunway Pyramid, but he's really in Spain the country (how fortunate man..) and he does not take SIA.. he took some middle east air line.. Due to the large number of employees under Boustead Shipping, only 1/6 of the entire Boustead shipping population is invited for the simple luncheon.. It was more than enough for me and I trully treasure what my boss has done.. Thanks Jackie! The luncheon was held in Montes which is a walking distance from my office and the food is pretty good attached with an above average price tag..

While waiting for the food to come... I was really HUNGRY!!! Notice that the females sitting at one side and the men another.. Its so like those match-making meetings you will see on tv.. lol

Sitting opposite me, my boss-Jackie looking happy because his most headache employee is leaving.. HAPPY for him.. and beside him is Mr Nazri.. the HEAD of the accounts side..
The over-friendly restaurant supervisor which gives me goosebumps whenever he speaks..
The ladies..
The men.. talking about stars and heaven.. haha..

Me with the forever sweet and nice married Salinda..
Food is served to everyone except me.. crap..

the one on the left is the General Manager of Boustead shipping- Mr Bernard Khit and the teddy-bear look-alike on the right is the retired Mr Chiang who came all the way from KL to Klang to meet me!!! felt so honoured!!!

After lunch, I cam-whored with some of my colleagues.. starting from my neighbour, Nora.. who supplied me with plenty of chocolates.. I will sure miss her.. chocolates..haha..

Viviana who sits in front of me.. took this pic while waiting for her to finish her conversation with customer.. She's the customer service who helped me alot when I'm outside most of the times..
Finally.. TEDDY bear.. RYAN.. the one i will miss the most..
Ms Elaine.. she's like my mum in Boustead..
Wani.. who calls me darling in the office.. married at the age of 22 if not mistaken.. and she's younger than me..

Pretty Emma.. who plans to get married pretty soon too.. a cam-whore pro.. Ms Khor who looks abit like my late grandma.. she's the kindest person in the whole company..
Brother Ng.. who doesn't like me to call him Uncle.. retiring this or next year i think..
Kak Aida.. paling sporting..
Kak Fiza.. my 'financial' provider.. She releases my claim cheque all the time..

Kak Aiton... she went emotional when I wanted to take pic with her..
Ms Jaya.. we were roomates during last year's company trip..
Tosri.. the one i can talk to for hours..
this is the view of my office from my place..
Kak Aida n Nora posing..
I used to complain how boring life is in Boustead coz I never appreciate what I have and I trully dislike sales job.. Yesterday as I was clearing up my table I realised how much I've grown and learned throughout my 1 and a half years attachment with Boustead.. the nice bunch of people I met and the knowledge I got that money cannot buy. Although I will be going to a totally different line, they are still very nice to me and kept asking me to come back and visit them.. they are simple, nice and down-to-earth.. Now I'm missing them d.. crap!!
/
p/s: another Farewell party tonight...this time with my friends whom I got to know when I was doing my sales job.. can't wait to hear them sing.. I doubt I will sing alot.. because they are really hard-core singers..

exercise

Feeling rather fat and ugly lately..

Fat = Ate too much due to good mood, out to catch up with friends too much and it is a natural symptom of every girl to complain that she's fat even though she's not..But for my case, I have put on a little weight..

Ugly = Red allergy-like spots appeared on the cheeks on my face lately + the failed-squeezed pimple scar on my nose which is really irritating me now..

I decided to challenge myself with my house's threadmill while watching Friends in the living hall with the motivation of running + walking on it for 1 hour.. But I FAILED.. miserably.. in less than 15 mins, i was lying on the sofa giving up and both eyes staring at the TV laughing at Joey's lame joke.. Looks like the only way for me to really RUN is when my friends pull me to Taman Rakyat to run and really sweat like mad.. I wont be able to give up half way like how I did at home.. I seriously need to get my body toned up before I go to singapore.. Don't wanna look like orang kampung among the other hot 'contestants' when I start my training there..

Why is my butt so big all the time? ARGH...

p/s: I still haven't watch IRON MAN!!! Shawn, where is the DVD you owe me!!!!!

Dry Throat.. head spinning

In the name of Fathers' Day, the Soo family went to AEON Bukit Tinggi for a hardcore Karaok session on Saturday.. How hardcore? From 3pm to 10pm!!! 7 hours non stop.. Even when the dinner buffet is served, we took turns to eat and sing so that we dont waste a single penny spent.. haha.. Never look down on the ability and stamina of the Soos.. haha..

For me it was even a longer day.. Called up one of my friend when my body finally decided to wake up at around 10 something and we decided to catch Hulk as he was all excited about the release of that movie.. (Yes, its a HE but we are really good friends only.. Wasted for me.. haha..I'm saying this because he reads my blog too) Personal opinion, this version of Hulk is much better than the previous one.. (acted by the hot Eric Bana..) The story line is slightly better, the overall performance is above my expectations.. Not bad for a super hero kind of movie..

Right after the movie, we went for a quick lunch and then I chased my friend away while I went and check-in to the room for Karaok.. My dad loves to sing by nature.. Although he's not the best singer in the world.. But he's above average if you wanna compare him with other peasants and with his macho voice, certain songs sound really really good.. *Imagining daddy singing Butterfly Kisses when i get married in the future..* *sob sob* So, Mummy decided to bring us all there to celebrate Fathers' Day and also this is part of the family time thing before I leave for Singapore.

As usual, we will have arguments on who should sing first and next because our music interests varies from individual to individual.. Dad loves to sing Oldies.. From Bee Gees to Lionel Richie.. You name it.. All those singers that are 40 and above, he knows! For mum's side, she only orders Chinese oldies and occasionally duet with Daddy for some classic English oldies like 9,999,999 tears.. Jessica loves the fast tracks by those hot young macho singers who are 30 years and below.. From Troy (of High school musical fame) to Jason Mraz.. But too bad, Green Box do not have alot of selections for English new releases.. Even if they do, the MTV does not have the lyrics for us to sing along.. In Amanda's case, she loves all those new hot young chicks that can play musical instruments and sing like angels.. From Colbie Cailat to Michelle Pirrelis.. I'm the most general.. I sing to almost every songs that were on the screen.. Except for my obssesion towards Wang Lee Hom's songs.. haha..

The best part of the day was when Jessica ordered 'When you're gone' by Avril Lavigne.. I was shocked because it is super high in tune and she hardly listens to Avril's songs.. To my surprise, it was dedicated specially to me by her and Mandy because I'm going to leave them for the 1st time in their entire life. I was stunned but thrilled by their very sweet thought.. Throughout the song, although their pitch were a little out and they went out of tune in certain parts, they managed to put me in tears.. Although that song was meant for a guy who's leaving his Gf.. but they chose the right song to sing to me.. Sing along to this.. 1...2.. 3..

- Avril Lavigne Lyrics

Overall, it was an awesome day for us.. But the side effect is.. all of us had really dry throat although we drank loads of fluids.. and on sunday, we were dead tired.. All of us went for afternoon nap after church.. I think we had too much exposure of TV wave.. thats why.. and my head is still spinning.. crap..

p/s: 'Here in my home' sang by various local artists is really really hard to sing.. I thought it was easy.. Go try this song out if you have the chance.. Westlife and Lee Hom's songs are still the best!

Heart 2 heart..

Mummy went emotional yesterday when we were chatting in the living hall while she was eating 'Bah Zhang' (sticky rice wraped in lotus leave with pork, mushroom and bla bla bla..).. We were talking about my future and what might lie ahead of me.. Suddenly she said:

'Everybody told your dad and me that its a waste we never have a son because we only have 3 daughters but I want you and your sisters know that we never regret for having daughters and not going for a 4th child to try out for a boy.. Everybody says that its a good thing that my daughter gets into SIA and do not let us down k.. Make sure you do things that we will be proud of.. and never forget what you have learned here and never give up on what you believe because we believe in you..'

This really come unexpectate and mum was all tears thinking of the fact that I will be leaving her in 1 month time after she has invested in me so much time, effort and most of all, MONEY!! Mummy, although you wont be reading this, but I assure you again here (in black and white) like how I promised you yesterday that I will not forsake the family even though I will be away.. Its just Singapore what.. After my 4 months training, I still can come back (by bus.. cheaper ma..) and turn the house upside down.. Lol.. It is tough for me to leave home after being pampered for more than 22 years and I can't imagine my life without your yummy home-cooked food and Daddy's 'lecture'.. But I belive I can make it and will not let you or daddy down.. I LOVE YOU!!!

p/s: In the midst of clearing my things (no, i didn't bother to pack up yet.. but cleaning up my stuff.. coz I got so much things that I can't bring and not used..), I found some shoes (or some prefer to call it heels) that I will never wear or bring to Singapore.. My sisters can't fit into my shoes and I'm size 6.. I will post up the pictures soon and i will be selling it in less than half of the original price.. coz most of them are pretty new.. haha.. I have to sell la coz petrol price up.. everything up except Salary and I got 'tabung Pamela ke Singapore-S$3500' to fill up.. help la.. if u can.. At least this is a legal business.. Ok.. its not technically legal because I do not have a license but who cares..

'Hello...'

'Hi Pamela, this is Lilian here from SIA..'

'Oh hi.. Ms Lilian.. Good morning..'

'Waiting for my call huh?'

'Ya man, impatiently and desperately..'

'Hahaha.. You are really funny.. Anyway, just wanna let you know that your working permit has been approved.. But you need to give your current company one month notice right?'

'Huh? So fast approved d? Oh my goodness.. I didn't expect this.. Ya.. I need to give my boss 1 month notice before i can leave for good.. '

'IC.. So you can't make it on the 2nd of July flight?'

'I dont think so, is there a later flight?'

'OK then, I'll put you in the 10th of July flight, then the training will start on 14th.. Is that ok for you?'

'Sounds ok to me..'

'Ok.. let me put your details in.. and FYI, you have to sign the bonded contract with our KL office before you come here on the 10th and you must bring along a guarantor.. He or she must be 21 years old and above and working.. Cannot be your spouse if you are married..and remember, you will be bonded under SIA for 25 months.. '

'Oh.. ok Ms Lilian.. so, 10th of july?'
